Destiny Rings is building a wearable platform that helps people discover meaningful real-world connections through subtle, screen-light interactions.
Founded in 2025 by Carnegie Mellon graduate Jayson Shin, Destiny Rings combines smart rings with a companion mobile app to help compatible people discover one another while they're physically nearby. Instead of encouraging more time spent swiping through profiles, the platform is designed to reduce screen time by making real-world interaction easier to initiate.
The company is preparing for its initial launch in Hoboken, New Jersey before expanding to additional cities.

Jayson Shin is the founder and CEO of Destiny Rings. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2025 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Business Administration.
After graduation, he began his career in AI and data transformation consulting while building Destiny Rings during evenings and weekends. His goal is to use wearable technology to help people spend less time searching for connection through a screen and more time experiencing it in the real world.

Product Overview
Destiny Rings combines Bluetooth-enabled smart rings with a companion mobile app to facilitate real-world social discovery.
Users create a profile, choose a mode such as Dating, Social, or Networking, and set their preferences in the companion app. When compatible users are physically nearby, both rings provide a subtle haptic notification. If both people choose to introduce themselves, they can tap their rings together to reveal compatibility and securely exchange contact information.
The experience is designed to keep phones in users' pockets and encourage face-to-face interaction rather than replace it.
